When you start your new Windows 8 OS you will find something missing. Yeah it is classic Start Menu button. With Start button you can easily locate any program and file on your computer. Windows 8 start screen provide links to limited apps. So most of the us are willing to get that Start button back. Currently there is no any setting in Windows 8 to turn on that button. But there are some third party apps that surely promise to return the Start Menu button.
StartMenu7
With StartMenu7 you will get your Windows start menu back. You can resize the start menu, customize the look and feel of it. You can access a pop-up menu of commands by right mouse click on any folder or shortcut. Run and Search commands are there. Power Control panel displays options to Shut Down, Restart, Hibernate, Sleep and Undock. Free and Pro versions are available.

Classic Shell
Classic Shell combines features from prior versions of Windows. ClassicShell package includes the Classic Start Menu, Classic Explorer and Classic IE9. Classic Start Menu is nearly identical to Windows 7 Start Menu with all it's features. It also gives you Windows 95/98/XP start menu. Once installed, Classic Start Menu boot to the desktop automatically when Windows is started. Classic Shell is open source and is entirety free.

Start8
Once you have installed Start8, the familiar Windows start menu button appears that have the same start menu as of Windows 7. With it you can use a metro style start menu too.

ViStart
ViStart displays the similar Windows 7 orb on the left bottom of screen. ViStart menu has folders and shortcuts on the left pane and links to popular Windows features and locations on the right. You have easy access to Run, Search, Control Panel, Shut Down options and All Programs. Currently you can't customize the menu.
